A lot of ropes are necessary for a tented restaurant deck. Do they obstruct the view, or are they part of the view?

Doesn't get in the way for me. Part of the view, or maybe the "feel" of being in a place like this. It's Florida.

@Viewfinder: This is my feeling, too. There's a certain amount of "who cares" to lots of living here. That's why I tend to dress like a tourist (or a bum, depending on who's doing the judging) - :)
I think they are fine, gives it that beach feel. I've never been to Florida, but I imagine it's along the same lines as Spain over here?. Nice shot Ken.

@Observing: I do get that feeling - Spain or Greece, maybe. It let's me pretend I'm a sailor :)
No... it doesn't get in the way at all for me, either, although I prefer yesterday's view from this place. Still interesting to see.

@Andrew Gould: For me it's the rustic, welcoming charm of the rigging against the institutional architecture of the condos. Surely each condo is cost more than the tent, but I don't think the money's worth sacrificing the charm.
