I doctored the background in this one with color and shading in Photoshop, to see if I could get a more "studio" look.

Ah, yes, nice tone and warm feel, an accomplishment with a grey background. Good shot. Your posing is consistent with tilted headshots. I like that as it can be dramatic. See if you can maintain the tilts with a little more chin lift. It tends to open up the face more and present less forehead (for those big headed people like me). Good work.
