I think you're going in the right direction but I feel that this portrait could be a bit brighter and warmer. Maybe it's the black background that makes this shot seem too dark. I think trying it again on a white background would give it a nice high key "pop." I think her hair fades too much into the background and we lose it which makes the portrait more flat. Night lighting though. Not trying to be mean just offering my critiques.

@Paul Ricciardi: Thanks for the great critique. I've never had enough lights at my disposal to light a background - I do have white fabric, but it reads as grey once all is said and done - which is rather more dull than black. One more flash $$$! and I'll give it a try. Thanks again! -ken
very nice portrait. i disagree with Paul, and actually like the dark background, though maybe more contrast would help the portrait acheive some extra pop...

@Paulski: Thanks for the insight! The contrast decresed a bit when I processed the image with a slight blur overlay to get that "romantic" feeling. Maybe more hair light would help separate the hair from the background as well. Cheers! -ken
Wow she looks like a princess :) I love the expression of her face... so natural, she doesn't look like she is posing, almost like it was accidental :)

@Lia: Well, I would say "spontaneous" but she was surely posing - or maybe "voguing" would be a better word. :) It was a very playful session with lots of participants. Thanks for commenting!
