This Photoshop experiment has so many filters applied I can hardly keep up with them. I worked with 5 layers, including a gradient red overlay, diffuse glow, partial desaturation of yellow-greens, blue photo filter, a brush filter effect (and probably a few more), with each layer's opacity balanced until it looked "just right." I almost did one more spotlight effect in blue, but although it created a nice night effect, it obliterated the rest of the effects.
