Enormous Cell Phone

Scanning in old negs -- anyone care to guess the year on the basis of the ENORMOUS cell phone carried by the guy on the left? I think the bag over his shoulder is part of it.

PS: HUGE thanks to Damon and EVERYONE who commented on my "water-themed" pix over the past three days. It was a fun experiment -- let's do another!

I saw my first Motorola cell phone in 1989. But I don't remember those skinny ties in the 80s. So, I'll guess late 70's.

yes, i rememebr those days on the 80s when these huge boxy handphones were carried only by the very rich who can afford one!

who would have thought the cellphone would have shrunk so much within just over 25+ years!

i wonder how cellphones would be like in 25 years time... :)
