Immediate reaction here is that it is a pastiche of the famous view of Florence with the Duomo (although it would need to be reversed). Apart from that it's an evocative cityscape with a lot of interesting details the more you look at it. The distant blocks (apartments?) strike you first, after the dome. and then the foreground which is like a miniature city within a block within a city
