About Ken McCoy

Ken McCoy

the dream stage =
"All the world's a stage" (Shakespeare) + "Life is a dream" (Calderón de la Barca)

A theatre professor and practitioner, I've been shooting life in the theatre and the theatricality of life since 1984.

- OK, that's a little pretentious, I admit. I began photography because I took a trip to Mexico as a student and wanted to remember it better; I continued because I wanted to document my theatre work; then I began to help out actor friends and students with headshots. So it's mostly (but not entirely) people and travel photography. I am now at a point where I am taking stock of this "accidental art" -- thanks to the immediate and cost-effective nature of digital photography -- and I'm feeling the need to move forward, to make it more meaningful. Especially since I already have a day job :)

ANY comments -- on image quality, content, point-of-view, models, lighting, post-processing, gut reactions, or whatever -- are very much appreciated.

- Ken
